About Fitwel Viral Response
The Fitwel Viral Response Module provides, third-party certification of policies and practices to mitigate the spread of contagious diseases within buildings. Created as a joint initiative between the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the General Services Administration (GSA), the Fitwel Viral Response Module builds upon and operationalizes the global scientific evidence highlighted in Fitwel’s Research to Action resource series, which creates data-driven strategies that mitigate viral transmission, build trust and create healthy environments for all occupants.

The Criteria
Enhanced Indoor Environments: Indoor air quality, testing, monitoring, cleaning, green purchasing policies, etc.
Encourage Behavioral Change: Hand hygiene, surface hygiene, health promotional signage, PPE guidelines, etc.
Build Occupant Trust: Contagious Disease Outbreak Preparedness Plan, Communication plans, Paid Sick Leave, etc.

What does this mean for our tenants?

HEALTH Creates healthy environments for all tenants and minimizes the spread of other infectious respiratory diseases, resulting in less sick days for your employees. Examples include indoor air quality testing, monitoring and cleaning.
TRUST Tenants and employees can trust that the building is operating at the highest and safest levels. Building management will be transparent in communications regarding exposure and updates to building operations and protocols.
SAFETY You can feel safe coming to work, knowing best practices in the industry are taking place. Examples include implemented PPE guidelines, increased surface hygiene, and installed sanitation stations throughout the building.
PREVENTION We have created policies and practices that minimize the spread of infectious diseases. Our Contagious Disease Outbreak Preparedness Plan outlines safeguards for future pandemics, not just COVID-19.
